Designed for an Alexander Calder mobile, this light well incorporates concealed suspended track lighting elements, suspended low voltage pendants and miniature framing spots. When used at night, the suspended track lighting elememts cast shadow patterns on floor surfaces from the Calder sculpture.
Artwork on adjacent walls is accented by the miniature framing spots which are also hidden in the lightwell structure. The suspension of MR 16 lamps close to the glass skylight system at the top of the well provides reflected prismatic color which wash structural elements of the design without coloring surface areas or objects in the living area.
